When first-time guests come to Asbury, we want them to know immediately through visual storytelling that our mission as a church is “Helping Others Follow Jesus.”
Our mission will be told throughout the church in all areas including the children’s area, front foyer and hallways with different ministries being featured.
First-time guests need to be able to easily find their way around the Asbury campus, inside and out. Interior and exterior signage has been requested for some time, so this will be a major part of the refurbishment.
When we moved to this location, we originally wanted to renovate the Community Life Center (CLC) immediately. It has been 13 years, and we still haven’t done that. This room will be updated in terms of equipment and will provide a better gathering space for fellowship.
We want to keep our facilities looking current and fresh so we keep attracting new people and continue to grow for future generations. We are in the process of developing a master plan to this end.
We want to create a relaxed and cozy seating atmosphere around the church where everyone, especially our first-time guests, will feel welcome and at home at Asbury. Seating areas will be placed in the foyers when you first arrive.
Every 10-12 years, growing churches make an update to their children’s ministry; we are following best practices from around the nation.
We want our members to be excited and invite others to visit Asbury!
Areas included in the refurbishment:
Interior and exterior signage
Community Life Center (CLC)
AsburyKids – New theming on 1st and 2nd floors
Front foyer upgrades
North interior upgrades
South interior and exterior upgrades
New marquee sign
We have been anticipating this need for quite some time and have been setting aside money in designated or “restricted” accounts pay for this refurbishment.
This money will not come out of the operational budget or be part of a capital campaign.
We have been able to save up this money from prior years due to the generosity of our congregation, wise stewardship and utilizing effective people on our committees.
