Asbury Satellite Project:

Latest Updates on May 15, 2017

On April 3, we announced the exciting news that our church is multiplying and launching a new satellite congregation in midtown Tulsa to reach new people for Jesus Christ. We will send Pastor Jon Odom to head this new endeavor and will be receiving a new pastor, Jay Henderson, to help with young adults at our Mingo location. Since the announcement, we have been developing our plans for the satellite and submitted an initial proposal to the Council Oak District. Our plans were approved and we were awarded a $100,000 seed gift for the launch.

In the next few weeks and months, we will work with a church planting coach who will help make the launch of the satellite as successful as possible. We anticipate that Jon will transition to working on the satellite project full-time sometime this summer. Pastor Jay’s first Sunday with us will be on July 2, which is fitting, since he is a veteran and a member of the Oklahoma National Guard. Please continue to pray for Jay and for the new satellite project as we seek to Help Others Follow Jesus all across the city of Tulsa.
