Prayer Ministry

Asbury believes that God hears and answers prayer! 

Does your heart beat with desire to be used mightily of God? If you have a passion for prayer, want to grow in your prayer life, or are just curious about prayer, Asbury’s Prayer Ministry would like to connect you.  Our goal is “To disciple ALL generations in developing lives devoted to prayer.”

Asbury’s current and ongoing prayer opportunities:

Acts 29 Prayer Team
Pray in advance of Asbury’s ministry work and activate the power of God to effect transformation. Pray daily on your own using the Acts 29 booklet and emphasis sheet, which includes specific prayer requests submitted every 40 days by the pastors, staff and ministry leaders. Learn more

Intercessory Prayer Team
Pray for personal prayer requests received from the Sunday worship services. A weekly prayer list is provided.

E-Mail Prayer Team
Pray in faith for emergent prayer requests as they come in during the week.

Pray For All Prayer Team
At Asbury every member is prayed for by name!  You will receive a list comprised of Asbury members to pray for by name once per week.  No contact is required. 

"Serve2" Worship Prayer Team
Pray with others in unified prayer during worship for all aspects of the worship service in the main prayer room. Prayer makes a difference in the spiritual atmosphere of our worship services! Learn more about Serve2

Asbury's Prayer Walk
Want to improve your health and change the world - - all at the same time?  Asbury’s ½ mile Prayer Walk utilizes the exterior sidewalks around it’s building with seven strategically placed signs affecting every aspect of our culture.  The walk is perfect for individuals, families, small groups and adult discipleship communities.

2nd Saturday Prayer Tour
Come join others on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 8:15 – noon in the Venue building. This is a fun prayer opportunity to provide prayer support and encouragement for our volunteers and for the ministries where they serve. Learn more about 2nd Saturday

2nd Thursday Kingdom Prayer Meeting
Meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month for passionate and unified kingdom focused prayer for our church, city, nation and world.  Main Prayer Room from 7-8 pm

Annual Prayer Events
Watch for communication about these events; some require on-line registration.

  • Spring Break Mission 24/7 Prayer Watch – Pray for students to impact the world on Spring Break Mission by signing up for an hour of your choosing on Asbury’s web page.  Prayer guides provided.
  • VBS Prayer Watch – Pray for salvation to spring up among children attending VBS by signing up for an hour of your choosing on Asbury’s web page. Prayer guides provided.
  • Lenten Prayer Emphasis – Pastor led times of evening prayer in the Mason Chapel focused on praying for revival in our church, city, nation and world.
  • Watch & Pray Prayer Wave – The Asbury Prayer Wave is a movement of people who join together to pray intentionally for revival in our church and for what God is doing in and through Asbury.  Individuals or small groups adopt an hour of prayer during the week in which they will pray each week over a period of several weeks. Annual Prayer Services

  • Service of Remembrance – A special service held during the Advent season for all who have grieved the recent loss of a loved one.  There is an opportunity for healing prayer and memorial candle lighting in honor of your loved one.
  • Maundy Thursday Communion & Prayer Service – During this unique service held during holy week, we share a communion meal and walk with Jesus through the watches of His final night. 

Asbury's Prayer Rooms

All of Asbury Prayer Rooms are purposeful, quiet places to seek and encounter God. 

  • Main Prayer Room is located on the south side near the elevator and has many prayer resources.
  • Mason Chapel Prayer Room is located near the southeast corner of Mason Chapel next to the Prayer Garden and Columbarium.  It is accessible through an exterior door. Access code required.
  • Venue Prayer Room is located on the east side of the Venue 68 building.  It is accessible through an exterior door. Access code required.
