Hospitality Ministry
The art of welcoming and treasuring people. It is the process by which guests are welcomed, fears are allayed, relationships are begun and people are encouraged to return. It is extending the grace and welcome of God to all people.
Connection Corner Consultants
Specialists who assist members and guests who want to connect with discipleship communities, a care and support ministry or a volunteer opportunity. They have resources enabling them to answer most questions and they get contact information for staff to follow up with when necessary. Serve twice a month.
Connection Welcome Guides
Do you remember when you were not familiar with this building? Finding the CLC, childcare, classrooms, coffee or drinking fountains can be a struggle for someone new. A great Guide would love getting to know people and would visit with the member or guest while walking with them to their destination. Serves twice a month.
Day Hosts
Day Hosts offer hospitality during the week, serving for two hours every other week. at the South Desk. The South Desk is a “pick up” and “drop off” location for many things, the lost and found is located there, as well as new member name tags.
Gazebo Cashier
Sell Asbury merchandise, Perception books, concert tickets, etc. before, between and after services one week out of 8 week rotation. Asbury background check required.
Curb Greeters
Be the first to welcome members and guest being dropped off at the curb. Open car doors and lend a hand when you see someone could use a little help. The few Sundays we have inclement weather, you would steal the hearts of the ladies by walking them to the door with an umbrella.
Door Greeters
When was the last time someone held a door open for you? Provide the unexpected service by standing on the outside and holding the door open as you welcome everyone for worship. Serve twice a month before the 9:15 or 11:00 services.
Greeters
Welcome all who enter Asbury on Sunday morning, watching for those who appear to be first time guests. Twice a month before the 9:15 or 11:00 services.
Photographers
Photographers are needed to capture special occasions during worship such as baptisms and 50th anniversaries. These occasions are scheduled in advance, so you would be contacted ahead of time for a specific date.
Prayer Journal Sales
Assist with prayer journal/book sales on one Sunday three times a year. Asbury background check required.
Sunday Receptionist
Surprise callers by answering the phone Live! allowing potential guests to have a conversation rather than receive a voice mail message. Are you an encourager? That might be all they need to come to Asbury for the first time.
Special Events
Special events seem to come up a lot! The needs of each event or project are unique, but could include food service, hospitality or merchandise sales for events, selling or taking tickets for concerts/events or helping to clean up and put things back in order. Accept or decline according to your schedule at the time.
Ushers
Greet and welcome members/guests as they enter the worship area, hand out bulletins, help with communion, and provide assistance to worshippers needing it. Serve at the 9:15 or 11:00 service times.
