Children's Ministry Discipleship Teacher - AsburyKids Associate

Asbury Church is expanding its family ministry staff and is currently seeking a Children's Ministry Discipleship Teacher. This role will be responsible for overseeing the ministry-related aspects of AsburyKids Ministry to children and families, ensuring that it aligns with Wesleyan traditions and Asbury's mission of making disciples, including preparing and teaching lessons or talks, organizing and preparing for annual events, and understanding the heart of a child, while building relationships and caring for our children, parents, and volunteers.

Job Qualifications:

  • Be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, seeking to know, love, and serve God.
  • Become an active member of Asbury church.
  • Model behavior that aligns with Asbury's Ministerial Employees' Mission Statement.
  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
  • Have at least one year of experience in ministry, classroom management or education with children.
  • Participation in a Christian Church camp is a plus.
  • CPR Certification
  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate ministry volunteers and staff.
  • Proven ability to facilitate difficult conversations in effort to resolve delicate personal issues.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work quickly.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Proficient in planning and delivering age-appropriate sermons to children on a weekly basis.
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a 4-to-5-person ministry leadership team.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated team player who can work independently.
  • Adapt quickly to change and new situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all circumstances.
  • Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while serving others.
  • Must be able to work with all levels of ministry leadership and staff effectively.

Time commitment for the position:

  • Full Time from Sunday – Thursday, including Wednesday evenings and sometimes other evenings or weekends.
  • Prepare, facilitate, and additionally attend all monthly and annual events including, but not limited to: Vacation Bible School, Asbury events, and promotional activities.

Asbury Students (Student Ministry) Discipleship Teacher (female)

Asbury Church is expanding its family ministry staff and is currently seeking the ministerial position of a Full-Time Asbury Students (Student Ministry) Discipleship Teacher. The Student Associate is responsible for ministering to female students in middle school/high school youth group and dealing with female specific, sensitive context, in addition to attending camps and other ministry events. The female associate will also be responsible for equipping and encouraging students and their parents to live life with Christ. This position is responsible for facilitating weekly ministry programs, preparing and teaching lessons or talks, organizing and preparing for annual events, meeting with and building relationship with students, caring for volunteers, and improving current methods of ministry.


REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  • Exemplify the church’s values and uphold the staff covenant.
  • Become an active member of Asbury Church.
  • Must have vision and a demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and implement within the parameters of a theologically conservative church.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1 to 2 years of student ministry experience.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with little oversight.
  • Must be adaptable to quickly changing situations.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all circumstances.

Children's Ministry Part-Time Staff – AsburyKids

Asbury Church is all about family and we are hoping you would like to be a part of it! We are seeking rockstar leaders to join our AsburyKids team!

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with children and are passionate about sharing faith in an engaging way. If you have a genuine heart for children and a desire to be part of our community, this could be perfect for you!

We need part-time staff members to provide nurturing and safe childcare for children during ministry events on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and occasional other church events!

Asbury Classical School Lower Primary Teacher

Currently our Asbury Classical School at Asbury Church is expanding and is currently looking for lower primary teachers for our next school year. This position is responsible for using classical methods to effectively train students in spelling, grammar, reading, handwriting, math, science, history, geography, literature, and, preferably, Latin. The teacher will intentionally remove barriers between areas of study and make connections among subjects, demonstrating that all truth ultimately belongs to God. This role involves using an established curriculum to create solid lesson plans using age-appropriate knowledge of student abilities. Good teachers will use differentiated instructional methods to capture students’ attention and foster cooperation. Strong classroom management and discipline, rooted in love and aligned with approved methods, are essential. The teacher will support students and their families through consistent, thoughtful communication, feedback, encouragement, and prayer. Asbury Classical seeks teachers who demonstrate a love for learning and dedication to teaching through classical methods.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  • Must be a baptized Christian, who is an active member of Asbury Church or other local church, partaking of the Lords’ Supper, living “in Christ” (Rom. 8), and above reproach in character, testimony, and Christian witness.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Classical liberal arts education is preferred.*
  • Agreement with the school’s statement of faith and commitment to the integration of faith in all aspects of teaching.
  • A heart for the gospel.
  • A heart for children.
  • A love of learning.
  • A robust background in humanities and/or willingness to study intentionally.
  • A deep understanding of numbers.
  • A love of God’s creation that is communicated effectively.
  • A desire to train and equip the next generation.
  • A natural intuition in the classroom.

  • Able to lead a small classroom in a loving and disciplined manner.
  • Able to patiently mentor through discipleship.

*Applicants that do not have a robust liberal arts education must be willing to learn and engage in extremely thorough training to prepare for the first academic year.

  • Full-Time from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday – Friday.

Asbury Classical School Teacher Aide

 Currently, our Asbury Classical School at Asbury Church is expanding and is currently looking for teacher aides for our next school year. This position is responsible for providing support to both the teacher and students in the classroom, outdoor recess and transition times to spaces throughout the school. The teacher aide will monitor students, assist with classwork and activities, and support the overall discipleship and academic training efforts of the teacher. The teacher aide will learn from the teacher in order to serve as the substitute teacher in the teacher’s absence. This role includes interaction with parents on matters related to student’s behavior and academic performance.

 REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  • Must be a baptized Christian, who is an active member of Asbury Church or other local church, partaking of the Lords’ Supper, living “in Christ” (Rom. 8), and above reproach in character, testimony, and Christian witness.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and a background in classical education strongly preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in ministry, classroom management or education with children.
  • Demonstrates patience and understanding needed to work with young children.
  • A heart for children and a personal love of learning.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, as each day in the classroom will present new challenges and unexpected situations based on student needs.
  • Ability to de-escalate and calm students who are upset and frustrated.
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills and an ability to use discretion in communication with students and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a 4-to-5-person ministry team.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with little oversight.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all circumstances.
  • CPR certification (provided during onboarding)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

 Time commitment for the position:

  • Part-Time from 9:00 am to 2:45 pm Monday – Friday.
