Congregational Care
Asbury cares when you are hospitalized, homebound or living with a chronic illness. Congregational Care Ministers (CCMs) are specially trained and commissioned to walk alongside the pastors to provide regular visits or phone calls to pray, provide encouragement, give Communion and anoint with oil. If you or someone you know from Asbury is going into the hospital or is unable to attend church for any reason and they would benefit from a CCM, contact Betty Nollan at 918.261.3043 or
Please keep us informed if you, or someone you know from Asbury, will be in the hospital. Because of HIPAA, the hospitals no longer let us know when Asbury members are hospitalized. To request a hospital visit, please call the main office at 918.492.1771.
Do you want to share God’s love with someone who is not able to join in regular church activities because of health concerns or limited mobility? Join our next CCM Academy to become a trained and commissioned volunteer. Call Betty Nollan at 918.261.3043 or to get more information.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers are members who have been trained to provide a listening ear and a helping presence for others who need support while they struggle through life's rough times or a challenging decision. The Stephen Minister works on a one-to-one basis with his or her care receiver and keeps all sharing strictly confidential. No fees are charged for the services. If you answer yes to any of these questions, perhaps you can find assistance by sharing with a Stephen Minister:
- Are you having trouble coping with some changes or challenges in life?
- Does it seem like there is no one to talk to? Friends and family are tired of listening?
- Do you doubt God’s presence and love for you?
- Do your job worries seem too great to handle?
- Are you feeling lonely? Are you hurting?
- Have you recently suffered a loss?
Celebrate Recovery
If you or a loved one are turning to unhealthy ways of coping with life’s tough challenges, we are here for you. For many years, Asbury has been offering an effective scripturally based way to help heal the hurts, hang-ups & habits of life called Celebrate Recovery.
Every Monday night in the CLC, rain or shine, holiday or not, Celebrate Recovery offers a free homemade dinner from 6-6:30 pm, amazing worship at 7 pm, a relevant teaching or recovery story, then small groups (separate men and women) reflective of your personal challenge: Co-dependency, Addictions (chemical, sexual, gambling, food, etc.), Mental Health or general hurts, hang-ups & habits. This is a SAFE place that offers confidentiality & anonymity.
We also offer a safe place for teens (6th-12th grades) called – The Landing and for children (6 weeks-5th grade) called Celebration Place. Both programs are based on the same Christ-centered age-appropriate recovery curriculum as the adult program. The parent(s) of the children do need to attend the adult program at the same time as the children. However, the teens can attend on their own. All are welcome at dinner & dessert time.
We end the evening with Café Grace where you can enjoy a homemade dessert while getting to know others.
