Michael Kemp
Director of Traditional Worship
Office: 918.39.21184
As Director of Traditional Worship, Michael Kemp directs the Chancel Choir and New Covenant Orchestra, while also leading worship for the 9:30am Traditional service.
Michael is married to Heidi (an amazing pianist, violinist, jewelry artist, mom and all around awesome person). Together, they have three children (Benjamin, Violet and Norah), three dogs (Millie, Max and Nala), one cat (Keagan) and a snake named Scales. Michael loves spending time with his family, biking, exploring the great outdoors and teaching. It’s no surprise that Michael is a musician, considering he was born and raised in Music City U.S.A. – Nashville, TN. When asked what his favorite music was, he responded with “an impossible question for a musician.”
Fun fact: Michael is a professional saxophonist and has performed/recorded with Avalon, Bart Millard, Casting Crowns, Denver & the Mile High Orchestra, Dino Kartsonakis, The Four Freshmen, Josh Wilson, Lori Morgan, Michael English, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, Natalie Grant, and Selah.
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28
