WEDDINGS AT ASBURY

"So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” – Matthew 19:6 ESV

Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding!

Accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior is the most important decision you’ll ever make, while choosing a life partner is a close second. We’re excited you’re considering Asbury for this monumental life occasion. Not only do we believe a wedding is a union between man and woman, but even more so an act of worship to God. Our prayer is that your commitment to one another also reflects your dedication to being followers of Jesus.

Our beautiful Chapel serves as a spacious, yet intimate setting to host your friends, family and loved ones. Waltz down the aisle to your forever as our experienced pianist and/or organist performs the traditional wedding march, setting the tone for a classy, graceful event. The Chapel’s outside archways stand as the perfect backdrop for stunning, elegant photos that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Asbury has hosted hundreds of weddings and gained vast experience throughout the past 50+ years, resulting in the ability to provide you with expansive wedding knowledge and exceptional technical skills for a stress-free event. We believe marriage is a sacred gift from God and we only want the very best for you and your fiance. Please read the following FAQs or contact our wedding planner, Lauren Smith, to learn how we honor Christ at Asbury weddings.

Wedding Planning FAQs

Since you also host church services in the Chapel, when and what times can I celebrate my wedding?

  • 1 pm, 1:30 pm or 2 pm – Saturday afternoons
  • 6 pm, 6:30 pm or 7 pm – Friday or Saturday evenings (Reception space not available)

Asbury does not host weddings or receptions on Sundays, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, any time during Holy Week, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, the Thursday/Friday of Thanksgiving week, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Can anyone officiate my wedding?

We require one of Asbury’s pastors to conduct any weddings hosted at Asbury. However, a pastor from a church other than Asbury can be the assisting pastor, as long as an Asbury pastor is the presiding pastor. Please consult with your Asbury pastor before contacting an additional pastor. If you need an Asbury pastor, please email Sandie Tomlinson:

Does Asbury require premarital counseling?

Yes! Asbury feels a responsibility to prepare all couples for a godly marriage and the possibility of unexpected occurrences (communication, finances, expectations, etc.) hence the creation of our “Couple to Couple” program. Talk with your pastor for more information.

What type of decor may I have?

Please review this list and let our wedding coordinator know if you have any questions.

  • No decorations should be placed in front of the Communion table or blocking the cross, considering the focus should be on Jesus Christ and you (the couple).
  • Easter or Christmas decor must remain in place during those seasons.
  • For safety reasons, we don’t allow rice, bird seed, shaving cream, silly string, confetti, etc. in or outside of the Chapel.
  • We do, however, allow bubbles outside.
  • Alcohol is not allowed on the entire Asbury property. Violation results in forfeit of deposit.
  • Asbury’s buildings are smoke-free.
  • Chancel furniture removal is not allowed.
