National Good Neighbor Day and America 250

This year, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Asbury Church will partner with National Good Neighbor Day and America 250 to be the hands and feet of Christ to our neighbors. Saturday, May 16th, 2026 there are two opportunities to serve:

Morning: 8:30am - 11:30am - Bridging Hunger
Volunteers will arrive at Asbury Church and enter through the Family Room doors at 8:30am. Asbury will provide bus transportation to Bridging Hunger, where volunteers will pack unperishable food into bags to be distributed. Please be advised that long periods of standing and bending are required. Children age 4 or older may serve with a parent/guardian.

Afternoon: 3:00pm - 5:00pm - Shoulder 2 Shoulder Ministries
Volunteers will meet at the clubhouse of 89 East Apartments. Shoulder 2 Shoulder will have a mobile stage, sound system and food. Volunteers will invite residents to come have a hamburger or hot dog. Volunteers will participate in worship and engage with the residents, sharing their faith in Jesus with those who choose to come to the event.
