Family Movie Night

June 19, 2026

Friday, June 19, 2026, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Room: Asbury Students Center

Join us for a Movie Night in the Student Center.

"The Mission is one of my favorite movies, and I’ve been wanting to screen it at Asbury for our students for a while. Released in 1986 and with an all-star cast that includes Robert De Niro, Jeremy Irons, and Liam Neeson, The Mission is about Spanish and Portuguese colonization of South American Indians in the Amazon in the 18th century. Be warned—the movie is rated R for a reason and includes violence and non-sexual nudity of the native peoples. Obviously, I think the movie is worth seeing and I’m excited to get to show it to our students and their families, but it is NOT a movie for children.” —Pastor Andrew

AsburyKids will show a separate movie nearby for younger siblings: The Wild Robot, a heartwarming animated adventure based on Peter Brown's bestselling book. After a shipwreck, a robot named Roz wakes alone on a wild island and slowly befriends its animals, discovering what it means to show kindness and become part of a family. It's a wonderful family film that sparks conversations about empathy and community.

No dinner will be served, but we'll have plenty of movie snacks!

Doors open at 6:30 PM and movie begins at 7:00 PM.
