One of our favorite times of the year at Asbury Students is Middle and High School Retreat! Withdrawing to New Life Ranch in December, the weekend provides time for your student to disconnect from their fast paced lives and reconnect with God and other believers. Each retreat is focused around a central theme and Scripture – the goal explaining how the specific passage relates to our everyday lives and how it can be used to Help Others Follow Jesus.
For example, our 2020 theme “Released” was based on Scripture surrounding Paul and Silas being thrown into jail after freeing a slave girl from a spirit. Not only were they miraculously released while worshipping God, but they also stopped their guard from killing himself and ultimately led him to believe in Christ. After learning this story, we discussed what God can release us from and His desire for us as disciples. Ultimately, we learned how to use the testament of God’s power in our lives to Help Others Follow Jesus, too!
Retreat typically includes:
- Three Worship Services (Friday PM, Saturday AM, Saturday PM)
- Small Groups
- Personal Devotions
- Free Time
- Late Night Events
- 5:15 pm – Check-In at Asbury Students building
- 6 pm – Leave for New Life Ranch
